Winner Medical signs deal for 55% stake acquisition in Longterm Medical

Winner Medical Co. Ltd has reportedly inked a definitive deal to acquire 55 percent share in Zhejiang Longterm Medical Technology Co. Ltd for USD 108.2 million.

According to the Chinese company, the acquisition is in line with its plan to become a leader in the advanced wound care industry.

Longterm Medical and Winner Medical will benefit from the economy of synergy generation and scale in terms of domestic and overseas clientele, products, market channels, manufacturing, and R&D.

Longterm Medical develops, makes, and sells advanced wound care products, and has been leading the industry in China.

Last year, Longterm Medical produced total sales of over USD 52 million, of which the revenue generated from ostomy and advanced wound care products contributed over USD 41.6 million.

Through post-acquisition synergy generation and integration, both companies are expected to produce high revenue growth and hold a larger market share.

Concerning domestic sales channels, Longterm Medical serves over 600 hospitals whereas Winner Medical covers over 4,000 hospitals in China.

Both companies will collaborate and provide consolidated one-stop services. They are focused on becoming the preferred choice for nurses, doctors, and patients.

Additionally, Winner Medical will also collaborate with Longterm Medical to develop solutions for home healthcare for consumers and patients.

Global advanced wound care is a thriving market segment, with an expected rise in the domestic industry concentration. Both Longterm Medical and Winner Medical are leaders in China’s advanced wound care dressings market.

This acquisition will foster the complementary benefits of the global medical business of both the parties. The central value is using technologies to enhance healthcare economics and clinical results.

For the record, Winner Medical has dedicated its services to R&D, manufacturing, and promoting cotton-based medical disposables and medical dressings. It is the first company with complete product ranges in the disposable medical products market registered with several ISO certifications.
