Superbrewed & Bel Group partner to launch biomass fermented cheese

Bel, a French cheese conglomerate, renowned for its universal cheese brands like Laughing Cow, Babybel, and Boursin has recently announced a collaboration with the U.S. brand Superbrewed Food, in an exclusive arrangement to produce dairy-free cheese made through biomass fermentation.

Caroline Sorlin, Chief Venture Officer, Bel Group stated that to pursue its mission of providing healthy snacks for everyone, the company has innovated to cater to the challenges of a sustainable diet and to back the evolving nutritional requirements of the growing population of the world.

Caroline expressed excitement to enter the exclusive partnership which is a witness to their fast-paced results on disruptive technologies and pioneering role.

It was also mentioned that as a family enterprise, the team is also proud to adopt an open partnership model with above 100 collaborators comprising start-ups to scale up and stimulate their innovations and prepare the future of food.

As per Superbrewed, Bel has also recently launched vegan versions of its renowned cheese, aligning with its mission to scale up its most promising technologies providing environmental, nutritional, and sensory advantages in its products for the well-being of the planet and people.

Bryan Tracy, Chief Executive Officer, PhD, Superbrewed stated that the team is excited to be on board with Bel Group to drive the industry in the use of highly scalable substitute protein for cheese.

Reportedly, the collaboration will witness the use of ‘Postbiotic’ Cultured Protein from Superbrewed under the Bel Group brand’s labels. Notably, the refined biomass fermentation protein is developed from microflora that transforms plant fibres.

Moreover, the protein consists of all the 9 necessary amino acids and is minimally processed, and around 30-gram protein caters to the U.S. FDA needs for a source of 5 B vitamins consisting of b-12. Not to mention, it is also filled with minerals such as magnesium, iron, and phosphorous.
